Materials:
+ Collected gingko leaves from Seoul
+ Paper
+ Marker
Overview:
We are so easily divided into categories and subcategories while simultaneously confronted with a homogenized world. We are unique - we are different. We are of nature and propose to be above nature.
During my time in Seoul, I have taken note of geographic relationships and similarities to that of my home in New York. The ginkgo leaves flooding the sidewalks are evidence of fall. This reconnects me to not only to New York but also back to nature. The changing of seasons impact all who experience them. It is this experience of change, seasonal change that I reflect upon and ask you to do the same.
Action:
What does the seasonal change of fall to winter:
Look like?
Taste like?
Feel like?
Sound like?
Smell like?
Your responses will become a part of my continued investigation of sensorial experiences within different geographic regions. I will anonymously incorporate your responses into a performance object which will ultimately become a map of Seoul.
-
After all responses were collected, all collected gingko leaves were organized. Or at least we attempted to find establish order upon the ephemeral. Once order was finally established for hundreds of gingko leaves, every leaf was misplaced by the winds of my breath.
