I am pleased to announce that Performance is Alive reached another milestone by presenting it's first Artist Feature. This week we hear from Alexandra Zierle & Paul Carter (Zierle & Carter). The performance pair presents durational works that investigate relationships, interconnectivity and at times, ritual.
The Performance is Alive Artist Feature includes a Q&A with the artists exploring critical notions of their practice, personal insight on their collaborative approach and a list of influential artists. Check out the full article here. After recently being asked to prove that performance art isn't dead and exclusive, I decided to create a website devoted entirely to presenting performance artists working TODAY. I hope you enjoy the site and discover new performance artists that are creating work that you find personally meaningful.
The performance art community is truly incredible and I am honored to be a part of it. www.performanceisalive.com I am pleased to announce that my 24hour performance piece entitled, Reflections for Guanabara Bay, will be published in the upcoming volume of Emergency Index produced by Ugly Duckling Presse.
Today I embark on a new series of performance works. Human Wind is a collective performance within Brooklyn community. I imagine that the geographic scope of this project will expand but for now, it is occurring in my back yard (so to speak).
The intent? To record the sound of the wind emitted from volunteers. Together we will create a human wind orchestra. If you are interested in becoming a part of the project please email or message me here. As always, thank you for your generous support. Q I have been working for months on re-designing my site and I am delighted to share my new online identity with you! 2013 has been an incredibly busy year. I have attempted to re-cap as much as possible below.
